By downloading, accessing, or using Sudoku Master (the “App”), you agree to these Terms of Use. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the App.

1) Apple EULA and these Terms

If you downloaded the App from the Apple App Store, your use of the App is also governed by Apple’s Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement, unless a custom license agreement is presented in App Store Connect.

These Terms supplement the Apple license agreement and cover areas not included in the standard agreement, such as gameplay features, online multiplayer, advertising, and subscription terms. If there’s a conflict, the Apple agreement controls for the parts it covers.

2) Who we are (and who Apple is not)

These Terms are an agreement between you and Vertex Studios. Apple is not responsible for the App or its content, and Apple has no obligation to provide support for the App beyond what the App Store requires.

3) Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old or the minimum age required in your country to use the App. If you’re under the age of majority, you confirm you have permission from a parent or guardian. The free version of the App contains third-party advertising.

4) What the App does

Sudoku Master is a Sudoku puzzle game. It includes campaign levels across multiple difficulties, puzzle variants, an interactive Sudoku School with lessons and exercises, smart hints that explain solving techniques, daily challenges, timed events, battle modes against a computer opponent, and an optional “Friend Duel” mode where you race a friend on the same puzzle.

Puzzles are generated deterministically from seeds and are intended to have a unique solution. Hints, auto-candidates, and the solver are aids to help you learn and progress; how you use them is up to you.

5) Your game data

Your puzzle progress, statistics, achievements, streaks, and settings are stored locally on your device. You can reset this data within the App, and uninstalling the App removes locally stored content.

Optional online features send a limited amount of game data to our backend, as described in our Privacy Policy. You do not need an account to play.

6) Online play and fair conduct

a) Friend Duel and rankings

Friend Duel matches you to another player using a room code, and the global ranking compares aggregate stats across players. These features are provided on a best-effort basis and depend on network connectivity and third-party hosting.

b) Display names

You may choose a display name for online features. Don’t use a name that is offensive, infringing, impersonates someone else, or contains personal information you don’t want shared with the people you play against.

c) No cheating

Don’t manipulate scores, progress, rankings, or match results, or use bots, tampering, or exploits to gain an unfair advantage. We may reset, remove, or exclude data and matches that appear manipulated, and we may restrict access to online features for abuse.

7) Acceptable use rules

You agree not to use the App to:

Reverse engineer, decompile, modify, or extract content for redistribution, except where permitted by law
Disrupt, exploit, or interfere with the App, its backend, or its security
Circumvent paywalls or advertising, abuse rate limits, or misuse the service
Use the App in a way that violates any applicable law or regulation
Use the App if you are below the minimum age in your jurisdiction

We may suspend or terminate access if we believe you violated these Terms.

8) Subscriptions, purchases, and billing (Apple App Store)

The App offers paid features through a one-time purchase and auto-renewable subscriptions:

Lifetime Access — a one-time, non-consumable purchase that unlocks all content and removes ads permanently.
Pro Weekly and Pro Yearly — auto-renewable subscriptions that remove ads and unlock premium conveniences such as unlimited hints, second chances, and fast pencil.

Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase.
Subscriptions renew automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
Your account may be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.
You can manage or cancel a subscription in Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions on your device.
Prices and durations are shown on the paywall and in the App Store purchase flow and may vary by country/region.
You can restore a previous purchase using “Restore Purchases” in the App.

Free trials

If a free trial or introductory offer is provided, it converts to a paid subscription unless canceled before the trial ends. Any unused portion of a trial may be forfeited when you purchase a subscription where applicable under Apple’s rules.

Refunds

Refund requests are handled by Apple under Apple’s terms and processes.

9) Advertising (free version)

The free version is supported by ads, including a banner during play and an optional rewarded ad you can watch for a “second chance” after running out of mistakes. Ads are provided by Google AdMob. On Apple devices, advertising-related tracking is governed by App Tracking Transparency and your device settings, as described in our Privacy Policy. Purchasing Lifetime Access or a Pro subscription removes ads.

10) Notifications

If you grant notification permission, the App may send reminders such as daily challenge prompts and streak nudges. Notifications are scheduled on your device, and you can disable or customize them at any time in your device’s Settings or in the App.

11) Intellectual property

The App, including its design, artwork, lessons, text, sounds, and software, is owned by Vertex Studios Ltd or its licensors and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for your own non-commercial purposes, subject to these Terms.

12) No professional advice

The App is for entertainment and mental exercise. References to brain training or cognitive benefits are general and not medical claims, and the App does not provide medical, psychological, or other professional advice. If you need professional help, consult a qualified expert.

13) Disclaimers

The App and its content are provided “as is” and “as available.” We don’t guarantee:

that playing will improve your cognitive abilities or produce any particular outcome
uninterrupted, error-free operation, or that online features will always be available
that the App will be suitable for every user or every situation

Online features depend on third-party hosting and your network connection, which we don’t control.

14) Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Vertex Studios will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, or goodwill arising from your use of the App.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability where such limitation is not permitted by applicable law.

15) Changes, suspension, and termination

We may update the App, modify or remove features (including content, modes, and online services), or discontinue parts of the service at any time.

We may suspend or terminate your access if:

you violate these Terms, or
it’s required for safety, security, or legal reasons.

16) Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date will change, and the updated Terms will be posted on this page. Continued use after updates means you accept the updated Terms.

17) Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, unless your local consumer protection laws require otherwise.
